"The Church Must Take Right Ground"

Hello, it has been a good Saturday and we have gotten a lot done down on the farm. Now its time for some rest and just a few thoughts on things that are happening.

I hear that one of the presidential candidate has made the statement that we need to have two languages in this country. In my opinion that would split this land right down the middle. All through our history we have spoken one language, that's English. Take a good look around this old world and study countries that have more than one language. If they are not in a civil war they are at least arguing about something, and usually it doesn't amount to a hill of beans, but people will die because of it. I would stress again that there are those that have a great desire to see a one world society. If you start intermingling people and languages, you may be laying a foundation for future globalization. America has been and should always be a country of one language, one people, one purpose, one cause and one heart. We can disagree and still be one people. That is what keeps us free.

I see where San Francisco is in the news again, this time they have condemned the Catholic Church for it's stand on sexual morality. Charles Finney once said, "God cannot sustain this free and blessed country, which we love and pray for, unless the Church will take right ground." San Francisco has also made the news with this latest from http://www.worldnetdaily.com/.

San Fran's next step: Legalized prostitution?
Petitioners have succeeded in moving a measure that would effectively decriminalize prostitution in the city of San Francisco to the Nov. 4 ballot.
While prostitution is unlawful under the California Penal Code, the measure – if passed by voters – would ban the San Francisco Police Department from allocating any financial resources for the investigation and prosecution of sex workers on prostitution charges.

My goodness, have they started something that once it gets rolling will be impossible to stop?

I see to that Israel foiled an attempt by Al-Qaida to kill president Bush. Israel has a top notch secret service and living under the threat of getting blown up has kept those (like what we have in this country) from tying the hands of those who are trying to protect their countrymen.

Another headline on http://www.worldnetdaily.com/,
State Dept. promotes 'Mosques in America' Publishes '09 calendar featuring worship sites for only 1 religion.
Check it out it is a good read.

I really like the quote earlier from Charles Finney, it hits the nail right on the head. The full quote is, "The church must take right ground in regards to politics....The time has come for Christians to vote for honest men, and take consistent ground in politics or the Lord will curse them....

God cannot sustain this free and blessed country, which we love and pray for, unless the Church will take right ground. Politics are a part of a religion in such a country as this, and Christians must do their duty to their country as a part of their duty to God....

God will bless or curse this nation according to the course Christians take in politics."

Leading up to the war of Independence, it was the churches that set the foundation of freedom. The pulpits burst forth fire on freedom and liberty according to the Scriptures. They set the standard for what would become the greatest country in the world. When ever their was an election or day of thanksgiving it was the church that had election day sermons, or thanksgiving day sermons. The people were hungry for God's word and wanted to know what it said about the situation at hand. We today are hungry for the ungodly and profane. There is always hope though, there is always God.
May God bless America.

For all is well down on the farm.

The Old Farmer.
