The Hay's In The Barn And The World's Still In A Mess

Hello, well now we have just finished the hay season. We are only about six weeks behind, blame the weather. But it is a good feeling to see the barn full of hay and you have plenty to feed the stock this winter. The life of a farmer is an endless job but I wouldn't trade it for all the tea in China.

While we have been putting in long days and nights the world is still boiling and our country is still setting on our hands and doing nothing about drilling for oil. As far as I can see there is no excuse for doing nothing. We must tap into our oil supply and become self supporting. It would be great to tell those oil producing countries what they can do with their oil and especially the ones that take our money and buy weapons in which to kill us with.

I see also that Tony Snow has passed away. I really liked him and his wonderful smile. If we as individuals would smile the way he did, no matter how bad things got, the world would be a better place. He will be missed very, very much.

There is a rumble going on about one of Obama's speeches where he made the statement "We cannot continue to rely on our military in order to achieve the national security objectives we've set. We've got to have a civilian national security force that's just as powerful, just as strong, just as well-funded." Now it seems that this statement is missing in the transcripts of the speech. I hope he has re-thought this and has changed course on the statement. My mind keeps thinking of places like Russia, China, North Korea and Iran, where civilian security forces have put fear in the heart's of there citizens.

Boy, the next few months are going to be interesting to say the least.

Hang in there.

For all is well down on the farm.
